Dr. Cathy Yuen earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry. She completed her clinical training at the Hoopes Vision Refractive Surgery Center in Utah, Walla Walla Veterans Affair Medical Center in Washington, and Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida. She also completed a residency at SUNY College of Optometry with emphasis in ocular disease.Â
Prior to joining Fromer Eye Centers, Dr. Yuen served on the faculty at the Flaum Eye Institute of the University of Rochester Medical Center where she provided comprehensive care for patients of all ages and co-manages patients with subspecialties including oculoplastics, glaucoma, cornea, retina, uveitis, and neuro-ophthalmology.
While working in Rochester, Dr. Yuen earned her Master of Science degree in Medical Management at the Simon Business School. She was the recipient of the Elizabeth S. Hansen Award, awarded to the student with the highest GPA amongst the graduating class of Master of Science. Â
Dr. Yuen is an active member of the American Optometric Association and New York State Optometric Association. She is the past president of the Rochester Optometric Society and former Finger Lakes-Niagara Regional Trustee. She has also presented at national academic meetings. Â
Dr. Yuen is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.Â
