Back to School Eye Examinations Are Critical to Children’s Performance in School

Child Wearing Glasses When you check off items on your “Back-To- School” checklist, don’t forget to make an eye examination appointment for your child. August is National Children’s Vision Month which is a perfect time to schedule an appointment with your eye doctor.
Having good vision is critical in learning. Children are not always able to recognize the signs and the symptoms of needing glasses. They may just accept blurry vision at distance or near as their baseline. Did you know that 1 out of every 4 school age children suffer from some type of uncorrected vision problem?
Remember, school vision screenings are helpful, but they are not eye examinations and they do not replace the need for a comprehensive eye examination with an ophthalmologist or optometrist.
Uncorrected vision problems, can lead to poor performance, academically and athletically.
Be pro-active and make an appointment for an eye health evaluation today.
