Danièle Jean, O.D.

Optometrist Manhattan | Dr Daniele Jean, O.D. | New York CityDr. Danièle Jean is an optometrist.  She graduated from Inter American University of Puerto Rico, School of Optometry.  She completed a residency in primary care at State University of New York (SUNY) School of Optometry.  She is certified in the differential diagnosis and management of ocular diseases.  She also specializes in specialty contact lens fitting including rigid gas permeable and multifocal lenses.  She has practiced in multidisciplinary settings such as Woodhull Hospital and Comprehensive Eye Care in Atlanta, Georgia. She is the recipient of two research grants from the National Eye Institute.  She participated in research at the University of Houston, College of Optometry.  The results from her investigations have been published in many publications in her field including Eye and Contact Lens. Dr. Danièle Jean is fluent in Spanish, French and Creole.   She is a member of the National Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.  She is currently working toward becoming a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.

Julia King, O.D.

Optometrist Manhattan | Dr Julia King, O.D. | New York CityDr. Julia King is an optometrist.  She specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease including glaucoma, laser vision correction co-management, and contact lens fittings.  She attended the University of Central Florida for her undergraduate studies and earned her optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University.  She completed internships at Clayton Eye Center in Atlanta, GA and Aker-Kasten Surgical Center in Boca Raton, FL.  Dr. King practiced at Vision Care Specialists in Colorado until she relocated to New York City.  She is a member of the American Optometric Association and New York State Optometric Association.

Lisa Modesto, O.D.

Optometrist Manhattan | Dr Lisa Modesto, O.D. | New York CityDr. Lisa Modesto is an optometrist who has received her fellowship from the American Academy of Optometry.  She graduated with honors from the State University of New York College of Optometry where she also completed her residency in ocular disease.  She specializes in the differential diagnosis and management of glaucoma, diseases of the retina and the visual pathway, and in co-managing cataract, glaucoma and refractive surgeries.  Dr. Modesto has experience in providing eye care in multidisciplinary hospital settings.  Her previous experience was at Woodhull Hospital and at the Northport and Newington VA hospitals.  She is also knowledgeable in specialty contact lens fits such as astigmatic, multifocal and rigid gas permeable lenses.  Dr. Modesto provides general primary eye care as well.  She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry.  Dr. Modesto has participated in research and has had several scientific publications in her field.

Jason E. Compton, O.D.

Compton earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the SUNY State University of New York and completed a residency in ocular disease at the Wilmington Delaware Veterans Administration Medical Center. Dr. Compton specializes in advanced procedures such as hard-to-fit contact lenses (including astigmatism), rigid gas permeable lenses and multi-focal contact lens fitting. He provides nonsurgical diagnostic and therapeutic care of the eye including medical eye examinations, refractive surgery consultations, pre-operative and post-operative care, treatment of minor eye injuries, and the diagnosis and management of a variety of ocular diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration. He is currently an active member of the New York State Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.

Diane Calderón, O.D.

Optometrist Manhattan | Dr Diane Calderon, O.D. | New York CityDr. Diane Calderón received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) and completed a residency in primary care and ocular disease at the The Eye Institute at PCO.  She held a faculty appointment at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in Fort Lauderdale, FL prior to returning to her hometown of NYC. Dr. Calderón specializes in the treatment and management of ocular disease as well as laser vision correction co-management and contact lens fittings. She has presented posters and published papers in various topics in primary care and ocular disease. Dr. Calderón is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a Clinical Examiner of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association.  She is fluent in Spanish and has participated in numerous mission trips providing eye care to communities in Central and South America.
